The core of our endeavors here at Holy Cross is rooted in our Faith. We are a Catholic School that strives to instill in our students not only a love for discovery and learning but a love and respect for each other as children of God. All students participate in Religion class and the Catholic students benefit from the exposure to children of other faiths. Religion is not just a subject at Holy Cross it is our guiding principle.
Below is a brief explanation of the core curriculum in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade Religion classes. All classes utilize the Loyola Press Christ Our Life series.
6th Grade Religion – Our Ancestors
6th Grade Religion focuses on the Old Testament. The students learn about the covenants made with Abraham, Moses and the Jews. This foundation of our Faith is strengthened with regular use of the Bible and prayer formation. Cross-curricular learning is apparent as the students learn about the ancient world in Social Studies. Our text is God Calls a People.
