faith
At Holy Cross, the Gospel values and our Catholic identity are modeled and woven into the fabric of each school day. Faith development is rooted in Christian principles and Catholic beliefs and traditions. Faculty and students begin and end each day with prayer. In addition, staff and students pray and give thanks before and after each lunch period. Students regularly attend mass, confession, adoration, and take leadership roles as altar servers, lectors, and readers in our church services.
scholarship
Holy Cross students are challenged to achieve excellence. We believe in small class sizes and a rigorous curriculum that is exciting and rewarding to students. We believe in an inclusive environment and provide appropriate resources to meet the needs of all learners. We educate the whole person by complementing the core subjects with physical education, music, art, technology, library and Spanish. School leadership and faculty continuously evaluate and improve the curriculum to maintain the highest standards. Holy Cross students are consistently accepted into the high schools of their choice and most place into honors and scholars programs.
service
The Holy Cross community practices the Gospel message to "Love one another" through many acts of service throughout the year. Students collect food to make Thanksgiving baskets for local families in need. School families collaborate with the parish Social Concerns Committee on monthly food and clothing drives and participate in an annual Giving Tree project at Christmas. In addition, students make 1,000 meals each year to benefit Cup O’ Joe, an organization that serves the homeless in Washington, DC.
